Internal Dialogue

This lesson is #152.It is a central theme in Acim. Par. #7 says "to think that God made chaos, contradicts His Will, invented opposites to truth,and suffers death to triumph over life; all this is arrogance."
The power of decision is our own. Decide but to accept your rightful place as co-creator of the universe, and all you think you made will disappear. Par.#8
Our ability to say that nothing happens to me unless I decide it means that Iam never a victim of what goes on in my life.

The lessons are the way we learn to apply the principles of the Course to our daily lives . The last info that Jesus gives about doing the lessons is ; do no more than one a day. Then he has this to say;
Remember only this;you need not believe the ideas, you need not accept them, and you need not even welcome them. Some of themyou may actively resist. None of this will matter, or decrease their efficacy. But do not allow yourself to make exceptions in applying the ideas the workbook contains, and whatever your reactions to the ideas may be, use them. Nothing more than this is required. W. 2.9

Acim was received by Helen Schucman from 1965 until 1972 from a Voice who clearly identifies Himself As Jesus. Help was given her by her boss Bill Thetford. There have now been over 1 million copies sold. It is available at most bookstores.It is about getting back in touch with that part of us which has never left God.
Part of the challenge of ACIM is that it uses language that we were raised to interpret in one way but it uses it in another way.

I came to Tx in 1965 from Northern Ireland as a Catholic priest. I left the active ministry in 1970. Since that time I have a variety of jobs including 13 yrs as a counselor 10 of those in Alcoholism related work.I first got into A Course in Miracles in 1988 when I was searching for answers to my 12 yr old son having terminal leukemia. I did not easily accept what the Acim had to say but luckily I was led by Spirit to do the lessons first and that made a big difference because that convinced me that it worked in my life.
